About Me

I am 8 years old and a third grader. I used to go to Rosa Lee Carter Elementary School but in 2019, I am re-zoning to Moorefield Station Elementary School. I have a younger brother who will be going to first grade. I love reading, math, soccer, basketball, tennis and video games.

I am an avid reader and my goal is to get everyone interested in reading more books.  Thats why I created a website because that's the most efficient and least time consuming way to share my experiences and love of reading books. My dad and I thought of some ideas for the website. Here are the ideas that we discussed:

  1. A search functionality that will help people search for books they want
  2. A brief summary of every book that will tell people about the plot of that book. For non-fiction books, it will tell what it is about and a few facts
  3. Rating functionality with stars where people can rate the books and write reviews
  4. Links to books on Amazon so that people can buy the books if they like the description and reviews of the book
  5. Recommendations e.g. if you like a book then here are some other titles that you might like
  6. Top 10 books by rating and age categories. If there is a tie between 2 books then the book with more reviews will go on the list
  7. Create book "bunches" that is groups of 2 or more people who share their thoughts on the books they read. This will help them discover new books

Then we started making the website on GoDaddy.com. I chose ScatterStars.com for my website because I want to spread my love and knowledge of books.

I will write blog posts on how books change your perspective and I will persuade people to read books. These are the reasons I will write in my blog post to persuade people:

  1. Reading makes your thinking and explaining better because you can explore more words
  2. If you read out loud, it helps you talk with expressions and feelings in everyday life
  3. Reading non-fiction books will help you get facts about the subject you're reading and you learn more about that subject

Example of a summary of a book: Harry Potter

You can not judge a book by its cover. When I saw the cover page, I thought it is going to be boring but it is so interesting with wizards and witches. You would have never read anything like it. It has lots of magic, spells and imagination. You feel you're actually in the Harry Potter world and exploring new spells to cast, flying on broomsticks, experimenting with potions and defeating the evil wizard. The author is J. K. Rowling. Did you know that when she wrote her first book, no body wanted to publish it. The first publisher published it because his 8 year daughter really liked the first chapter and immediately demanded the next!
